Today's theme ... motion. The tide was turned in the photo and there was lots of motion as Uncle Quent pulled the sled.

Today's theme ... motionless.  My two-and-a half year old nephew tried to pull his much older uncle on the sled.  There wasn't too much motion in this shot.

Today's theme ... breakfast. Not the best posed shot but it's what the breakfast table looked like today!

Today's theme ... lots & lots & lots.  Back to my Jackson trip for this shot.  This is just a small sample of what we saw that week, there were over 6500 elk on the refuge and we saw thousands more in other fields around the area.

Today's theme ... in the house.  This piano was in the house that I grew up in.  It has had many hands create beautiful music for as along as I can remember.  I hope one day that this piano that currently resides in my parents home will one day make it's home in my house.

Today's theme ... playful.  It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt...that's what my parents always told us when we were kids.  All the kids had a fun piling on Uncle Slim tonight at Grandma's house.  *and no one got hurt*

Today's theme ... morning routine. Today's morning routine consisted of homemade buttermilk pancakes.  Plain and simple, yummy!

Today's theme ... door. Just a picture of some random doors.  These doors belong to a 1970's motel on US 89.

Today's theme ... two.  Two swans sitting on the frozen ice.  Such a beautiful site.  (I have so many pictures from my recent trip I am sure I could complete the 365 with all my photos.  I will start taking more pictures soon, thanks for enjoying my trip through my lens.)

Today's theme ... winter. This picture was taken near Togwotee Mountain Lodge 45 miles from Jackson Hole Wyoming, at an elevation of 9658 feet.  Imagine how beautiful this picture would be if the sun were out? 

365 challenge -- store fronts {286}

Today's theme ... store fronts.  How I love Jackson, Wyoming.  This picture features store fronts from the old town square in Jackson.  It's amazing!

Today's theme ... multiples. Today we saw thousands of elk at the national elk refuge.  I loved the way the elk were lined up in this shot.

Today's theme ... the letter m.  Moose, I finally shot a moose!  Today my husband and I traveled to Jackson, Wyoming for our annual winter photo safari.  We try and make it to Jackson several times a year and we have found that winter is the best time for wild life.  Over the past two years we have not been able to spot a moose.  Today, our first day in the area, we were able to see three!  Here are just a couple of the shots. (PS don't be surprised if the next few shots are from the same area.  So much fun stuff to see and shoot.)

Today's theme ... critters.  This small ground squirrel attacked the bird feeder.  He's become quite fond of the bird feeder and spends most of his day collecting seeds.  He does allow the birds to eat but as soon as they're off he's back on  it.  Silly, silly squirrel.

Today's theme ... misty / foggy.  The creek just east of my house was producing quite the effect as the sun came up the other day.

Today's theme ... eyes.  I love the eyes in this picture of my niece.  So mischievous, innocent and fun.

Today's theme ... macro.  It's so cold today that the frost has not melted off the trees.

Today's theme ... eleven.  Eleven was not one of the 365 themes so I choose to use a free theme for today's post.  I saved this shot I took a few days ago as the perfect shot for 1/11/11. Eleven turkeys roosting in the trees.  Can you spot all 11?

365 challenge -- sunshine {291}

Today's theme ...sunshine. After days of gray skies and fog it snowed overnight and we now have sun!  I took this picture as the sun was rising and just hitting the mountain top just outside my front door.  Sunshine is such a welcome site, I don't think I've seen it for a week.

Today's theme ...broken.  This poor house has a broken window.  The temperature hasn't been over 20 degrees Fahrenheit in over two weeks so I can only imagine how cold that room is.

Today's theme ... circular.  Just one of three stacks of wood ready to burn.I found this in the front yard in a neighboring town.  I can only guess the pile was much taller as we've had subzero temperatures for weeks.

Today's theme ... repeating patterns. I decided today was the day to bake a lemon cake.  There were many themes that this cake would fit into but I liked repeating patterns.  Enjoy!

Today's theme ... in the distance.  This shot was processed in Lightroom with a slight antique look applied to make it look like an old yellowing photo.  It reminds me of the family farm we spent time at in the summer.

Today's theme ... family.  I just looked out the back window and we had several deer beyond the back fence and as I looked over towards our garden, I found this family.  I used a lower aperture so the doe and fawn are not as sharp as the back of the buck's head.  As I went to change the settings on the camera the group of deer were spooked.

Today's theme ... frosted.  I woke up to a world of frost, this picture was taken at 9:00 a.m. this morning it was -2 degrees as the sun was finally peeking over the mountain top.

365 challenge -- letters in architecture {168}

Today's theme ... letters in architecture.  This building is located in the Business Depot located in Ogden, Utah, it was originally part of the Defense Depot in Ogden.  The photo was processed in Lightroom and converted to black and white.

365 challange -- every day sights {88}

Today's theme ... every day sights.  While it may not be the same mailbox you see everyday, for me the mail is an every day sight.

Happy New Year -- 365 Photo Challenge

This year I have challenged myself to participate in 365 Photo Challenge 2011.  The challenge is to stick to the theme and take pictures that fit into one of the 365 categories given.  There are 52 "wild card" entries that can be substituted for one of the given themes.

I'm excited for the challenge, and I'm already behind as I didn't have the camera out today to tackle day one of the challenge. For those of you that are interested in the theme list, click here.
